Hello,

We're so happy you can join us tomorrow, October 18, for a tour outside the Obama Presidential Center and look forward to sharing more about our work!

ARRIVAL: Please come by any time within the 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM window. We'll have 30-minute tours running throughout the two hours, so you do not need to arrive right at 11:00 AM.



MEETING LOCATION
6001 S Stony Island: Look for the sign-in table on the west side of Stony Island Avenue.

We'll meet at 60th Street and South Stony Island Ave. If you drive yourself, expect to encounter ongoing roadwork to expand and improve Stony Island Ave. On any given day, parking may be available on 60th–63rd streets. Please take extra care in navigating sidewalks and crossing the road in this area. We value your safety.

Tour Route: We'll travel between 59th and 62nd streets along the west side of Stony Island Avenue.

PHOTOGRAPHY
You are welcome to take your own photographs during the walking tour. There will be photographs taken by Obama Foundation staff members that may be used in various public and private materials, like our website. Some tours will also be filmed by staff members. Please let us know upon arrival if you would not like to be photographed or filmed.

ACCESSIBILITY

  • Guests will not be entering the construction site. The entirety of the tour will be outside the fence.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • There are no stairs.
  • The tour can be wheelchair accessible.
  • The tour can be stroller accessible.
  • The tour consists of walking and standing for several minutes at a time.
  • Construction is going on during the tours on the other side of a fence, so expect some loud noises and a little dust at times.
  • Hard hats are not necessary.
  • Tours are given only in English for now.
  • Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Construction areas are fenced off, but the tour runs along busy streets. Adults bringing children should expect to be aware of them and hold their hands.
  • Guests can bring their own drinks and snacks, but please use provided trash cans.
  • Shade is limited.
