Sunday June 9th at 12pm - Southwest corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive.
The event begins at 12 PM to honor Captain William Pinkney's internationally acclaimed accomplishments and excellence in sailing. June 9th marks the historic day Captain Pinkney completed his solo circumnavigation and set foot back on American soil. During his remarkable journey, Captain Pinkney navigated the three major capes: Africa's Cape of Good Hope, Australia's Cape Leeuwin, and South America's Cape Horn. Join the Pinkney family and Chicago's maritime community as we celebrate one of our own, Captain William Pinkney.
Parking is available directly across the street at Millennium Lakeside Garage 5 S. Columbus. Enter the ramps at 5 S. Columbus Drive, between Randolph & Monroe and enter the Lakeside Garage Gates (east). Drive to the end of the first floor and take the second left. Look for the green lights. It is highly recommended to pre-purchase parking on the link included below and pre-purchase your parking. Pre-purchasing in advance will allow a reduced rate possibly as low as $13.00.
All are welcome to visit Jackson Park Yacht Club after the event ends for gathering and early dinner at 2:00 PM.
