A Travel Log
Taylor Thompson is a third generation sailor raised the Great Lakes cruising with her family. Taylor shifted to instruction during high school and college coming on as an instructor for the JPYC youth summer camps and race team. While Taylor’s preference is cruising and enjoying a nice swim & sail out on the lake, you can find her most weekends fiddling on the foredeck of Mise en Place taking part in local CASRA regattas. While Taylor is deeply loyal to the fresh water of Lake Michigan where she keeps her 1968 Hinterhoeller 25, in the past few years she’s continually expanded her horizons undertaking an Atlantic crossing & spending time exploring the world living aboard and taking part in content creation projects surrounding sailing.
Amanda Brinton is a freelance prop stylist and film worker in Chicago. Winters are generally slow in the freelance commercial industry, so the past couple off-seasons she's flown south and found her way onto boats. The first five months of 2022, Amanda worked at a beach bar on Water Island of St Thomas USVI, living on a nearby houseboat and commuting with a dinghy or kayak, and of course, crewing and sailing with new friends. She returned to St Thomas that August and assisted on a delivery of a 52' steel schooner to Norfolk, Virginia. The next winter of 2023, Amanda worked on a couple more deliveries, and got to enjoy another fabulous season of sailing in the Caribbean, making her way from USVI to St. Lucia on a 30' ketch.
